The warm welcome is almost overpowering. The highlight of the day for me was to hear the stories of Alexis and David. They both came to NPH at 2 years of age due to critical medical issues. These 2 young men, beat all medical odds, and not only grew but flourished in the care of NPH. The single most important point...Familia. They credit their success to the loving family NPH brought them into.
David is studying to be a psychologist while Alexis is called to teach high school English. He always loved the English language and would practice constantly. In the 5th grade, for the first time ever he had a English teacher from Guatemala. That was his light bulb moment where he realized "I can do that too. I can be an English teacher"
The gift these 2 young men are to the world is unmatched. They are vivacious and conscientious hosts, working hard to ensure we have a positive experience.
Thank you God for this opportunity to witness your amazing handiwork first hand.
